Windhorse Farm is a sustainably managed forest and working farm on Nova Scotia’s South Shore, with a wood-product business, and a retreat and program center with state of the art group facilities, off-the-grid cabins, and a restored 19th century farmhouse.
To the West of the farm are almost 200-acres of old-growth Acadian forest and 20 km of trails, whose care is entrusted to our non-profit Windhorse Education Foundation. On the East side, by the shore of Wentzell Lake on the LaHave River, is our a 4-acre organic permaculture garden. Windhorse Farm is also home to a small community of humans, who share the land with a non-human community of immeasurable size. Read all about some of the features of the farm, our philosophy, or just get in touch—we’d love to hear from you.
For a beautiful look at some of the people and philosophies behind Windhorse Farm, see Unceasing Play Productions’ feature documentary, Raising Windhorse.
